They would have been even better if they had been couched in terms that didn't make the poster sound like an arrogant result-of-touching-a-thorn
Why on earth is the word "prick" disallowed? It's the kind of word David Cameron would be happy to use on Mumsnet

We can't say prick?
(edit: <--- that one worked.)
What about "As Emily peeped through the gap in the door, she winced when she saw his flaccid manhood. It wasn't so much a baby's arm holding an apple as a comedy inflatable hammer. She resolved there and then to always wear dungarees and sensible shoes when in his presence."
Anyway, enough of the Mills & Boon. I have two dental appointments today
So I won't get much gig-searching done.My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

I spent most of the interview explaining - as asked - how this particular project should be run, what the issues would be and how I would tackle them. I gave examples from past experience. I was asked for confirmation that I had experience of the system concerned and explained how I had run workshops, organised training and turned around resistant users.Originally posted by RichardCranium View PostHowditgo?
It could have been more slick on my part, but then don't we all hate smooth, smarmy PMs? It was good practice and I learned enough to make a damn good impression if I get invited to a face-to-face.
I have been turned down: "While it is clear you have project management experience, you do not have sufficient experience of the system they are putting in."

So I have rung back: yes that is my feedback. I asked whether ANYONE has been called for face-to-face interview: "No, and I know what you're thinking and you may be right".
I think I have just given out some more free consultancy.

My Apologies for being blunt. My wife often calls me a "arrogant bastard" or "arrogant king of the world Canadian" or...well she calls me a lot of things.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostThey would have been even better if they had been couched in terms that didn't make the poster sound like an arrogant result-of-touching-a-thorn

I just finished a project which took one month to sort out...and I get a massive (not) £4000...and I'm still attempting to sort out a client's (uggh) backup, along with the usual "can you remove this virus from my laptop" and "what's wrong with my laptop battery" enquiries. Still...its a living. (barely).McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."
Spock: "Trained? Judging from you, I would have guessed it was trial and error."Comment
