Have you got flags where you live?

England flags are all the rage in the villages around here, local village FB groups are full of people enthusiastically organising ladders and so on.

Maybe everyone else lives in more progressive areas - definitely an easy way to tell what sort of neighbourhood you're driving through!

Spotted three on the main road into my town centre on Sunday.

I live in an affluent market town. There are no asylum hotels, refugees etc.

Christ, there are not even that many brown or black people (I'm one of the few).

Yep, our elderly neighbour flies a flag. The Palestinian one.

Chap up the road flies a Ukrainian flag.

Wouldn't be wise to fly a cross of St. George around here it might upset the locals. .

My next door neighbour has had a Union Jack at the front of his house ever since I can remember.

It's actually more the opposite round here. Being an out of the way(ish) village there is always a smattering of flags around either left up from events in the town or on houses/businesses but it's notable that the regular ones have gone with just a few new ones popping up. This whole thing came up in our local FB page and it was heated to say the least with a lot of name calling an accusations both ways. The regulars have taken the long standing flags down to not get caught up in it all.

It's very bizarre. We will be back to dog poo and inconsiderate drivers/parking soon enough I'm sure.

No flags round my way. But considering the mix of nationalities just running the local shops it'd look like the Olympics if everyone put one up.

There is a Ukrainian flag on the road.

Random flags are normally hung up if there is an international sporting event. Seems the handful of people who tend to leave their British/English flags up have all now removed them. Even the pubs don't have them up though there has been and is currently a women's international sporting event.
