Trump claims the fires are fake because it's cold, and that is clear proof that he knows more than science.

(Note: you won't find links to that story in any of the BUF supporting press.)

Also claims that there was a "water restoration declaration" that would have allowed water to flow from northern california to southern, but that the governor refused to sign it. No such document exists, but the far right just lap it up as true

The Great Fire of London in 1666 spread quickly due to strong winds and the close proximity of wooden houses. One would expect houses worth millions of dollars would be better build and have planning and building regulations to take the obvious into account.

To a certain extent they will but when an out of control bush fire is raging there is very little that is going to stop it. It's like building houses to withstand strong winds and wonder why it gets demolished in a hurricane. Look at that video of the guy inside his house with the fire around from the other day. It not a bit of a bbq going on, it looks like he's in the depths of hell with house high flames all around. Crazy.

There is the fact that they use a lot more wood in their houses and lighter build than we do because of the climate but that's a minor point compared to the first one.

I found it a bit disturbing to watch but it's incredible.

Mrs qh was watching Million Dollar Listing (in LA) from a few years back and I was wondering how many of those are now still standing.

Eye watering sums that they were worth ($48 million one of them) now just dust and ash.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Wonder if they'll pull the 'act of god' line and say sorry no thanks.

I read that one guy said he didn't know what would happen with his insurance as the insurance company building had also succumbed to the wildfire.
