So unless her TV interview could be used against her, any UK conviction would be based on her being 15 so the sentence would not be long enough.

Not long enough? She's probably had a rough enough ride already tbh. I don't quite know how many babies of hers have died, and how long she's been stuck in a refugee camp, but I suspect she's had a worse time than a UK prison over the last few years. She was 15 when she was groomed online and left the UK - a child. The other girls she left with are dead. Does anyone think for a second that if she was a white middle class girl she wouldn't have been airlifted home by the RAF at the first opportunity? Renouncing citizenship is a scandal IMO and I am surprised more people aren't up in arms about it.

I also agree it's completely wrong and akin to (but on nowhere near the same level of wrongness as) Guantanamo. If you believe someone has done something wrong, give them their day in court and - if found guilty - impose the appropriate punishment. Banishing them into citizenship limbo is medieval and not the act of a civilised nation.

In my personal opinion, let her back in and she'll need protection - and not just from the Daily Wail readers. If she ain't here she ain't our problem.

The death sentence isn't a sufficient deterrent to stop others committing murder, why would Shamima Begum's banishment prevent some other idealistic teenager from foolishly going off to support an unsavoury cause?

This is quite blatantly our government just playing to the Mail/Sun audience to garner favour.

Or the government agreeing to a clearly demonstrated wish to damage the country by aligning with a terrorist organisation. Bangladesh doesn't want her back for the same reason. Yes she is a silly little girl who has learned a harsh lesson - but that doesn't then mean we have to bail her out.
