It sounds like you're talking about their ancestral ethnic origins, rather than their actual nationality. In other words, judging a book by its cover. But please, do elaborate.

I can tell which part of Liverpool someone is from by their accent. I can tell my delivery driver who may well have a British passport is from Poland. So yes when Vetran argues against the sterotype that British people are lazy, meaning British born yes I can tell if they have recently moved here from abroad or if they where born here.

But yep miss the point and try to imply bias or even racism.

But you can never be sure, so best not to assume. That swarthy skinned gentleman with an Indian accent might well have an British passport.

Certainly round here, you'd never figure out from my accent that I'm Swiss.

I can't see how it will change. We are not going to see lots of migrants returned home or to a third safe country. We arent going to turn the boats around even if we could do it safetly. We have people causing an uproar over painted welcome signs.

It's pretty easy to work here illegally in low skilled, low paid jobs which is probably one of the main draws, along with the language etc.

When you get lots of young men, often uneducated and low status it's not a good thing for society.

That's impressive and you can tell if they are Romanian, Slovakian, Czech, Belarusian, Bulgarian, or even Russian as well? All different native languages of course, but very often with similar English accents. I'm from Poland and I would have no idea where in the post soviet block someone comes from based on their English pronunciation and I can assure you, you'd have no idea where I come from either.

Well that's interesting approach to logic I'm simply curious how the hell do you differentiate between all those post soviet block accents? I can pick up some facial features normally which makes it easier to say if someone's Polish or not, but I'm never 100% sure as accents can be tricky. So coming out saying you can easily distinguish if someone's Polish or not is definitely a bold claim.

It's either foreign or not foreign.

Not realising that some people with foreign accents have had British passports from birth, and others who have British accents are actually foreign passport holders. (I know people in both groups.)
