    Hot sauce recommendations?

Ever since university, the classic Encona West Indian has been my go to hot sauce. Boring thread but I'd love recommendations at a similar hotness level which is a sweet spot for me. I can't reliably get a read on how hot it is for comparisons.

    Have a spicy weekend

I once got a hot sauce as a gift from Thailand, and it was fantastic. I haven't found any since then that I liked. I'm not keen on the other ingredients they put in them like vinegar. I just chop up raw chillies instead.

However, I'm interested to see what people recommend.

I quite like some of the sauces from The Sauce Shop although my favourite one is now discontinued.

I have a variety of hot sauces as which one I use depends on what I'm putting it with and how spicy I'm feeling. In my fridge I have sweet chilli sauce, crispy chilli oil, Franks Hot Sauce, a couple of Flying Goose varieties, a couple of Sauce Shop varieties.

Agreed that some just taste like spicy vinegar, which is quite disappointing.

EDIT: and a delicious yuzu mustard, which is fabulous

Oh if you like mustard try the Polish shop there is now a curry mustard out, interesting fusion!

Sorry no use on hot sauce, Nandos is too much for me.

Which is why, after trying quite a few, I gave up looking.

Now I just buy a kilo of fresh red birds eye chillies off eBay and keep them in the freezer. They're thin enough that they can be sliced, or put in a blender/food processor, from frozen.

I've tried a few from the Indian section in the largest Asda near me but have concluded that once you have found a hot sauce you like stick with it so
Encona West Indian sauce for me also.

              Franks RedHot.
              Not hot but great flavour.

We often mix Franks with soy and lemon juice.

And sometimes melt butter and chuck in half a bottle.
Might join up my thoughts in just one post next time.
