    I've put on 3lbs.

    When the fun stops, STOP.

I used myfitnesspal for a long time. It has a very cool and time saving barcode scan functionality (you scan the barcode instead of having to search for the product and find the right one). This functionality used to be free for everyone but now it's just for users with the premium account so I said **** it and I now use an app called "Lose it!" which has the free barcode scan thingy.

I'd really like to lose at least 10kg by end of August when I've got a half ironman to do.
Well that went well. When I told the missus about my half ironman plan she pointed out I have a newborn to look after so the weight loss has been postponed to 2024.

Imagine paying for software that is actually useful! I'm only joking I do the same thing but it's weird how little we value software now (even those of us know write it)

I get that but I've got so many subscriptions (strava, zwift, trainingpeaks, trainerroad...) that even finding one app that does what I need and is free is a big win.

I am using my FitnessPal. I can still use the scanner with the free mode. I just dont see all of the macro counting etc.

I used it a lot for about 6 months to get an idea of calories on different foods, after about 6 months I realised its usually the same foods I am eating so can pretty easily work out over the course of the day if I am eating too much or not.
Still good to have for when you try somethign new. Only drawback is not much in the way of indian food so have to take a stab and find the closest match.

it will change the first time you update the app. So, don't update it. Ever.
