The hospitals won't happen because the Treasury haven't released the money (but insist HS2 goes ahead...). That was Sunak's doing. Again, that decision won't be revisited for many months.

Fuel costs rising are a combination of excess fuel duty (on top of VAT, don't forget) at the pump and profiteering by the petrol suppliers. The former was going to be corrected but won't now for ma....

The pound is weak because inflation is high. Reduce inflation (by perhaps a combination of the above and a drop in VAT rate) and it will soon recover. But that's not - well, you get the picture.

Losing Bojo may make Westminster feel good about itself, but the short term damage is very high.
It is my opinion that it is also weak because it crashed after the Brexit vote and nevr recovered

That was a very rapid return to Tory core values. It's remarkable how this return to "core values" fell within a 30 minute interval where the bomb on his clowncar was about to explode. Remarkable.

Yup, years of ******* everything up and they were just about to fix it if only the blonde man-baby had managed another week in power. Sounds plausible.

TBF from what I can read Rishi is ideologically in favour of smaller state and lower taxes. I haven't waded through his voting record but that was the summary I saw.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

If true, he was a pretty ineffectual voice in Cabinet.

What I said was that plans in train to address issues have been pushed back by at least six months assuming they are adopted by the new administration. If you think that is a good thing then keep your eyes firmly shut. Alternatively, reflect on the short term damage that delay will inflict.

I still think they have sacked the PM at the wrong time for the wrong reasons, not that he shouldn't have been sacked. YMMV.

I am merely rejecting your flawed analysis that this was a "return to core values". It was no such thing. Boris does not have those core values. Well, he doesn't really have any core values beyond cakeism.
