One thing's for sure, I doubt Ukrainians will ever feel safe when he's said their country shouldn't exist. Even if he does end up stopping in the east (for now), how long before he tries another land grab?

It's hard to see how this ends well with any form of lasting peace.

He's also pretty contemptuous of the US and UK leadership, especially Boris Johnson's "toddler-like attention span" and obsession with headlines and Twitter trends pretty much to the exclusion of all else.

He makes the point that western countries' kneejerk response in vying with each other to apply ever more strict sanctions on Russia will have a negative effect on western economies longer term, in all sorts of ways, and will strengthen China (I think he claimed) even more at our expense.
On the other hand, Russian expansion into Ukraine, Estonia, Poland... would certainly cost the Western economies an awful lot, and would strengthen China.

We now own a super yacht named Phi!

        https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-60912754

The UK has seized its first superyacht in British waters as part of sanctions against Russia.

The £38m yacht, named Phi, is owned by an unnamed Russian businessman, but the government said its ownership is "deliberately well hidden".

Transport secretary Grant Shapps said the move was "a clear and stark warning to Putin and his cronies".

Who cares what DC has to say. He's just desperate for attention - imagine we'll see him on I'm a Celebrity sometime soon.

A typical dooohg style misjudgement. If DC was desperate for attention, why would he stop posting on Twitter and charge a subscription for full access to his blog?

His insights are worth a hundred times those of most ignorant, hysterical, airhead commentators, not least because he has spent years studying and mulling over the achievements and mistakes of past politicians such as Bismarck, and seeing at first hand the gross incompetence and inefficiency of the current goverment and civil service.

One of the current bees in his bonnet is how many times in the past a nuclear exchange has been arrowly avoided. It makes scary reading and is obviously very relevant today!

He's played you for a fool.

Perhaps you've forgotten when he had to try and defend his personal actions? We got an insight into how clever he is but also how slimy and manipulative. Strange how now he's criticising the government he's suddenly trustworthy. Almost like there's an element of confirmation bias there.
The moment he lost his job as the person seen as "the power behind the throne" he immediately started trying to stick the knife in Boris' and co's collective backs. He is a manipulator.

We know the things you believe and the sources you trust, you have zero credibility to promote him - in fact probably the very fact you endorse him will turn people away.

This thread has gone quiet, maybe because there isn't much to report.

It's usually a good idea to keep an eye on what the other side is saying though, even if some of their claims may be lies, rather than voluntarily cocoon oneself childishly in a comforting group-think bubble, if only to "know what the idiots/villains are thinking".

That is a real weird extreme pro-Russian website. WTF EU flags with swastikas in the centre, I find that really sick apart from the fact that it is a extreme right wing website so it's a bit odd claiming the EU is run by Nazis.
