Yes, that's the impression I'd always had - I think the instructions on the previous ones said something about it possibly showing up quickly but you had to wait the requisite time and check then as a weak reaction might take that long. The thing I found unusual about these latest ones was the assertion that it no longer counted for anything after thirty minutes. The previous ones definitely didn't mention an only-valid-till time.

I know that from a bio-sanitation point of view this is probably a bit of a no-no, but we still have our son's positive test sitting on the kitchen counter, both bars still shining bright. Thought it might make a nice keepsake.
