until he got an email from the DVLA saying he was no longer the owner.
Well that's a lie, given DVLA don't record owners.

I've sold two cars, 16 and 14 years old, to them. They'll take anything as long as it's running (and to be honest, the last car I sold them wouldn't even start on the day they inspected it, the guy didn't care).

If you want to get rid of a banger and get a few quid for it, it's a good system.

Actually was trying to get rid of a 17 year old banger and got a £150 offer from "we buy any car" from which they then wanted a £50 admin fee when we dropped it off and to deduct money if they felt it was below the standard they expected.

Went to "remove my car" they gave us £350 and collected as is within a couple of days.

      £250 up on their offer.

Last time I had dealings with them they only ever offered the Glasss' lowest estimate for a basket case. Regardless of condition.

Bang to rights doing what, though? He was trying to sell a car, WBAC inspected it and agreed to buy it, but then pulled out because they thought he has a dealer. Why would they care whether or not he is a dealer? They are in the business of buying and selling cars, and presumably thought the price was reasonable when they agreed to buy it, and the car OK once they inspected it. There is some part of the story missing here.

They seem to have some limitations on dealing with businesses, vs dealing with consumers. And remember, pretending you're acting as a consumer when actually acting as a business is an offence!
