That's my argument to any veggie who tries to preach to me. I point out that their breeding of their offspring is far more damaging to the planet than my steak and jacket spud every week. Having not bred, I'm helping the planet no end (there's an open goal Vetran, go on, take the shot )

No, it's you that's speaking like a townie.

There are cattle which are good milkers (Friesian, Holstein) and there are cattle which are good for beef (Aberdeen Angus, Hereford, Devon Red).

Dairy cattle do not generally produce good beef. (And beef cattle have low milk yields)
Scoots still says that Apr 2020 didn't mark the start of a new stock bull market.

If you eat meat once a week you are a veggie for all important purposes
But I think you're aware this is a terrible argument

A townie that lived and worked on farms for most of the first 20 odd years of his life...

Anyway I suppose your farmer friend doesn't actually have several fields full of aging bulls that he can't bear to part with. Where do you suppose they went? And you do realise that most of the meat in the food chain comes from animals less than 9 months old? The quality stuff comes from cattle bred for beef, as you say, but the bulk is from dairy stock. Which is really where we came in, I believe.
              Blog? What blog...?

And this is a thread about steaks, not mince or stewing steak... which wouldn't presumably come from a past-it dairy animal or a stringy old bull?

Only steak once a week ... I also eat chicken and fish .... I'm sure someone somewhere has coined a term for that to pretend they are almost a veggie

That's rubbish .. I give you a free shot on goal and you fluff it like Harry Kane does!

You could have mentioned the gene pool and all manner of things. Come on, you can do better than that
