Ikea, Grolsch and Kopparberg have suspended adverts due to station’s perceived conflict with their values

Several well-known brands have pulled advertising from upstart channel GB News amid concerns over its content.

Ikea, cider firm Kopparberg and Octopus Energy have all withdrawn their adverts on the network following its launch on Sunday.

GB News, positioned as a rival to the news and current affairs offerings of the likes of BBC and Sky, is fronted by veteran broadcaster Andrew Neil.

He said the channel would not be “another echo chamber for the metropolitan mindset that already dominates so much of the media”.

However, GB News has faced accusations it will be broadcasting US-style partisan news shows in the UK and campaign group Stop Funding Hate challenged advertisers on social media.

So far this morning they have discussed the rise of marriage age with Savid Javid noting that 41% of forced marriages investigated involve Paskistani/Bangledeshi originated couples. Interestingly Mercy Muroki revealed that stat. The lack of english spoken amongst immigrants is a factor (Savid Javi mentioned that was an issue)

Kopparberg hardly advertise on TV, they would have booked 1 advert and got the press release ready to go. All so tiring.

And it won't look so smart if spoons drop the brand as they must sell 50% of the tulip.

I'm guessing the channel is going to be wall to wall equity release adverts anyway. 90% of the viewers are probably over 50.
