Why do gammonflakes get so up-tight about burqas?

A man in a suit led us on a disastrous and illegal war.

Men in suits led the banks and crashed the world economy. Other men in suits then increased the misery to millions through austerity.

If we are to start telling people what to wear, maybe we should ban suits.

It's even more basic than that.

On one side we have men telling women what they should wear based on cultural ideology and on the other we have men telling women what they should not wear based on cultural ideology.

How about we shut up and let women decide what they want to wear for themselves?

Now that's another hot topic thought isn't it. They may chose to as it's the way of live they've been brought up, and in some families they don't have the choice at all. And so on....

Exactly my point re the absence of pink frilly ones.

On a related note, there's an article in today's Grauniad about hookers in India being up in arms about some new legislation which won't differentiate between those who are coerced/trafficked into it, and those who are doing it willingly. It made for an interesting read.

                    Two thoughts:

                    1) The increased uptake of the full face veil is symptomatic of the spread of Wahhabism in the UK, a fundamentalist version of Islam akin to a fascist ideology, funded by Saudi.

                    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wahhabism#Appearance

                    2) Religion is not, nor should be protected from ridicule or satire, hate yes. If someone dresses in a stupid way and believes stupid things then in a free society it ok to say so even if the target finds it offensive. No one has the right not to be offended. Too many people are conflating offence with hate.
But I discovered nothing else but depraved, excessive superstition. Pliny the younger
