Dunno about the fake news or whatever it was you were crowing about, but Littlejohn is right on the button about the census.

At least William the Conqueror was honest with his Domesday census, with no BS about improving public services for serfs!

As another example, this rent deposit scheme landlords have to use was touted as a benefit for tenants. But obviously the real reason the Government bothered introducing it was solely to identify those renting rooms or property, so these people could be taxed!
