Had my first 'test' experience with a London Bitcoin ATM at the wkend - a simple £10 buy
Printed QR code of an online wallet onto A4 paper - haha, no mobile app
Walked into small London 'newsagent' with a Bitcoin ATM - not saying which one
Touch screen - 1) Pressed 'Buy' 2) Inserted cash 3) Selected 'use own wallet' 4) Held paper with QR code in front of ATM scanner
Job done, walked out of newsagent.
Got home, was surprised and astonished to see new Satoshis sitting in the online wallet.
Whatever opinions people have of Bitcoin as a 'fake, bubble, gamble, nonsense' currency the tech supporting it is deadly serious, impressive and improving every day .. I used an excellent Internet connected embedded teller cash recycling system with fabulous Gui interface design and scanner based image recognition.
Interesting (and good) that no id verification was requested at all, the transaction was totally anonymous - if I ever need to launder drug/vice money I now know where to go !Last edited by SunnyInHades; 6 November 2017, 12:13.Comment
