It's in Leeds not London - not surprising as they are based in Bridlington.merely at clientco for the entertainment -
I've said for years that IPSE and their predecessor are a complete waste of space. I also proposed an alternative group several years ago but got closed down pdq.Originally posted by stek View Postjust recieved this from IPSE, they can feck right off!!
This shower of shiite are really getting my goat now....
Dear IPSE member
Invitation to a workshop on a new way to contract the services of freelance technicians
8TH December 1pm – 4pm
The Met Hotel, Leeds City Centre
Hudson Contract is looking for a handful of members to provide feedback on a new and different way to contract the service of freelance technicians.
The new process will address the issue of supervision, direction and control (SDC) which is one of the central factors in determining IR35 and also impacts on the ability to claim expenses.
Once the process confirms the absence of SDC, it will take full responsibility for that status, providing contractors and their clients much greater surety of their tax liabilities.
Hudson Contract, who are developing the model, has extensive experience of status issues, particularly in the construction industry. They have asked us to invite a small group of IPSE members to help refine the new concept.
IPSE members will be entitled to invoice for the IPSE standard half-day rate of £250, plus standard class travel expenses.
A sandwich lunch will be served at 1pm with the session starting at 1.30.
Please let me know if you are able to attend the session by replying to this email.
Kind regards
Adam

One statement they put out a while back said the Government wanted us to work in a different way. No, they want us to pay more tax.
Now look where we are. What a feckin' embarrassment.Comment

Must confess I do question the point of them. They sell themselves as having a seat at the decision making table but never seem to influence a decision.Originally posted by GB9 View PostI've said for years that IPSE and their predecessor are a complete waste of space. They are clueless.Originally posted by SussexSeagull View PostMust confess I do question the point of them. They sell themselves as having a seat at the decision making table but never seem to influence a decision.
As I mentioned, the Government doesn't want us to work differently, they want more tax. IPSE, self-appointed 'industry representatives' just don't seem to grasp this. QDOS do a better job and they are an insurance provider.Comment

There problem to start with is they haven't got a large enough membership and legions of seat fillers don't know who they are and are oblivious to the oncoming storm.Originally posted by GB9 View PostThey are clueless.

Secondly, they have no real support from anyone but contractors as we are perceived as avoiding tax.Comment
