The ANC has had a field day with the Dianne Kohler Barnard issue. This is what Enoch Godongwana, the ANC’s transformation chairman, had to say about apartheid in November last year: "(Apartheid architect Hendrik) Verwoerd used the quota system, therefore we should too! We unashamedly say we will use quotas."
So, as far as the ANC’s concerned, apartheid and Verwoerd himself had some pretty good ideas; ones the party is more than happy to endorse and defend.
That is no endorsement of the sentiments in the Kohler Barnard post but it is rather odd to both decry and champion apartheid policies at the same time.
