Sooo pleased we kicked the Sharm option into touch for our last(ish) minute holiday.
All of the Madeira and Canaries holidays have been snapped up now though if anyone is thinking of going..."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

It's a minister channeling the wisdom of Mr T through God.Originally posted by oracleslave View PostI can't watch that from work but could you confirm that your definitive proof is a youtube video created by Atlah Ministries?
Does this video also prove as fact that "he and ANC killed hundreds of thousands". Blacks for not agreeing with them, and whites for being white" for the reasons you state?Comment

I take your refusal to even acknowledge my questions of you as tacit admission that you were just making tulip up (given that I cited evidence to the contrary).Originally posted by WTFH View PostOK, I apologise, SpontaneousOrder is right. You have been there post and pre ending of apartheid, after all - providing evidence to back one's claims is beneath such a man!Comment

Not sure you can point the finger at ANC and Mandela for this one, it seems to be cultural tolerance. What was the figure under apartheid? In the Huff Post, reporting this survey, they reported:Originally posted by SpontaneousOrder View PostRape & murder capital of the world. A mind boggling 37% of men admit to having raped people. 7% admit to participating in gang rape. Freedom!
South Africa Rape Study: More Than 1 In 3 Men Admit To RapeJewkes (lead researcher) believes South Africa's history of racial division and associated trauma is part of the reason of the high incidence of sexual violence in the country.
"Apartheid has contributed to culture of impunity surrounding rape in South Africa," said Jewkes. Men who were abused or experienced trauma during their childhood are much more likely to rape, she said, adding that apartheid destroyed family life, fostering violence and anti-social behavior.
The apartheid period also saw very little enforcement of common law, which has contributed to a culture of impunity, said Jewkes. My subconscious is annoying. It's got a mind of its own.Comment

That's something I'm more than happy to work with. And even if the figures do show it to be better before and worse after (as I think they do although haven't checked in detail in a long time) - that correlation doesn't necessarily prove causation.Comment

There doesn't seem to be a survey from the Apartheid years, point is, the shockingly high levels of sexual violence seem to be a characteristic of the country post and pre-apartheid, so I am not sure what their relevance is to an anti-Mandela/ANC rant.Originally posted by SpontaneousOrder View PostThat's something I'm more than happy to work with.
