Look young people, us silver foxes took all the money and all the lovely big spacious houses with land in the best areas. It's been great and we're fooking loaded.
Tom Watson will be the winner from today though. He is the labour party's Nicola Sturgeon: Hang on in there, make sure people know who you are but keep just far enough behind the leader that you don't get crushed when he falls. Overnight he's gone from someone only known to people who watch This Week or BBC Parliament to someone that's also know to people that read 'newspapers' and this thread (lets face it, so much of dumb Britain can't name any politicians anyway). Does he inherit Harriet's minibus as his office?
So, the general election in 2020 could be an interesting one: George Osbourne vs Tom Watson
Questions yet to be answered:
- Will the LibDems see a surge in membership as a result?
- Will Diane Abbot be shadow chancellor as she didn't win the mayoralty candidacy?
- Will comrade Galloway be welcomed back into the fold?
- Will Corbyn do HIGNFY (I bet they already sent the request!)
- Will all contestants on University Challenge now appear on the show in vests?
SNP will hold Scotland in 5 years for sure, maybe even improve on their result - they'll love Corbyn and make public deal, so people will know that voting for Corbyn will not result in a hung parliament and he'll have plenty of votes to form strong Govt.
Essentially all he needs to do is avoid personal scandals (like being found dead in a hotel tied up with an orange gag in a mouth) and take a few seats in the North where cuts will bite real hard.
The fact that he is old is actually good - fooks like Osborne became MPs early on, before that "worked" in some supporting role in Conservative central office (or something like that), and he is a fooking Chancellor!!! Should not be possible, he is not fit to run a company, nevermind country.
There will be a landslide Tory win at the next electio
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone
Say what you like about him, he may be as mad as a box of frogs, but at least he's not some jumped up Oxbridge PPE graduate whose only experience of life is as a researcher in the commons before progressing to become an MP.
True. But as an official in a couple of unions before entering politics locally and eventually parliament he's not really got that much experience of life outside of the political world.
Yes, he IS CUK's best wind up merchant (sorry MF, you're good but DP beats you by a county mile...)
