How long before they deploy the water cannons?
That pic shows loads of young men capable of fighting( and some with smartphones ). Yes, they are definitely refugees

Now I know that this quote is within the context of what are apparently bad conditions in the camps, but the answer is not to force your way across an international border simply because you choose someone else to look after you.

You're in Germany, Darmstadt, what would the German authorities do if they made it in? Put them into camps there? How would the processing work in Germany?
They put them in camps although they're better than the ones in Hungary it seems. Many of the camps are actually just sport halls, schools or old buildings which have been refurbished. Some are these containers which have been converted into a form of living area and in fact that is what they used back in '92 (we had one just down the road). The one here in Darmstadt is now tents with about enough space for 400-600 people. In fact what they could do is use the old US forces barracks of which there are plenty empty in the area but (a) there isn't enough housing for 'poorer' Germans which could cause problems, (b) there is a lot of to and fro'ing between the state and the local councils and the US about what should be doen with them and (c) you would be creating ghettos and not integrating these people into society.

Once in the camps they are processed and if found to be genuine then asylum is given otherwise they're sent back...

ah reach for the insults , if you get there you have to realise you have already lost.

It doesn't matter who raises a point, it is if the point is valid that is important.

But we have these things called international borders. Nobody has an absolute right to select which country they think they'll be better off in and then force their way in.
So you wouldn't do the same thing if you thought it was the best thing for your family?

Yes, correct. What valid points were made apart from the fact I apparently have a 'tiny binary mind' which I don't think is valid otherwise I'd either be a Daily Mail columnist living in the USA or a recruitment agent

what climb into a dinghy that was carrying twice as many people as it was designed for without lifejackets and with a family who couldn't swim? The alternative was to stay in a safe place in Turkey.

                      The wife was petrified.

He at this point became an economic migrant. It is tragic but don't miss the fact it wasn't our fault.

We should build & support camps in Turkey. That is our responsibility, we should refuse access to anyone crossing Europe to remove the pull.
