“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.” -
It certainly is.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostStarting to get a bit stupid now: Hungarian police and refugees in standoff after train returns to camp | World news | The Guardian
Now I know that this quote is within the context of what are apparently bad conditions in the camps, but the answer is not to force your way across an international border simply because you choose someone else to look after you.Why does Hungary keep us here when they don’t have the money to look after us
You're in Germany, Darmstadt, what would the German authorities do if they made it in? Put them into camps there? How would the processing work in Germany?Comment

Why don't the Hungarians just send them on to Germany?Originally posted by darmstadt View PostStarting to get a bit stupid now: Hungarian police and refugees in standoff after train returns to camp | World news | The GuardianLet us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

That's OK then, phew.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostTheir parents put them in that danger nobody else.
Very commendable. I often think the people clamouring "let them in" should be asked "how many will you take" or "are you happy they live on your street". I know a few people who genuinely would take in migrants (or others down on their luck) to their homes but wouldn't do it myself. Practical, grassroots support is probably the best thing.Originally posted by SandyD View PostA small group of us are planning to drive down to Calais in the first few days of Oct, we will take supplies to the refugees, also donations, anyone interested in driving with us, or just donating (either money or supplies) please PM me.
So far we have 2 cars and one van, lots and lots of people interested in helping and donating, if you have a car and would like to come that would be greatly appreciated.
It's not quite as black and white really. They've escaped their home nation as refugees, but then migrated across Europe looking for the best place. Don't think that a family takes the decision to leave their country and trek across a continent lightly.Originally posted by Chuck View PostThey aren't refugees, they're migrants.
If they were refugees fleeing terror they would have claimed asylum in France, or whichever safe country they landed in.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

There's street in Bristol (in Easton, I think) where they have been parked up in caravans for months.Originally posted by d000hg View Post

The council want to move them on but the locals want them to stay as they keep crime levels down in the street byt their presence.Comment

Nobody takes a decision to move their family lightly, even if it's from one town to another in the same country.Originally posted by d000hg View PostIt's not quite as black and white really. But we have these things called international borders. Nobody has an absolute right to select which country they think they'll be better off in and then force their way in.Comment

DC has done the right thing and hope he helps the real refugees who are in UN camps in Syria.
More than happy to help the real people in real need, as long as the west does something to fix the crap they caused in those countries. And finally send them back once the issues are resolved!Comment

I wonder what's stopping PM from eliminating himself despite living in the land of guns. MF, why don't you help him on your next visit to the US?Originally posted by Flashman View PostPier Morgan?
