Germany threw open the gates to all and sundry in August. Now, surprise, surprise they can't cope.

Now Germany dictates that everyone else must take their refugees!!

I suggest we start running day trips to Berlin for all asylum seekers!
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Germany took nearly 440,000 refugees in '92 from the Balkans and it hasn't hurt, they also managed to assimilate a few million East Germans just prior to that which hasn't hurt too much either. In fact, if anything, it could prove to be a boon for the country. As they have one of the lowest birth rates in Europe creating a dwindling younger generation and an ever expanding older generation, then integrating these refugees, many of whom are young educated people who want to work, will just help their economy.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Can we send the refugees back when their particular homeland is deemed safe?

Personally I don't see why not, in fact I was always under the impression that was meant to happen but obviously not...Mind you, does that mean that Ireland should get an influx of fat people wearing checkered trousers with loud voices sometime?

            That is a fair point.

Talking of assimilation / Integration of people coming from the said countries, the concept has utterly failed in the United Kingdom. Anyone needs examples?

Looks like Dave Cameron has caved in to the whingers in the press and Chancellor Merkel.

My decision to never, ever buy a copy of a British newspaper reinforced again. Now if only I could watch tv with paying the BBC for the privilege....

They also inherited the land mass of east germany which somehow you managed to forget. Let us not forget that even though Germany is such a paragon of virtue it has no equivalent of CUK
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

                    Yes you can.

Some of the people from the conflict in the Balkans who came to Britain and other European countries returned after the war.

In addition when lone Afghan children who have been smuggled into Britain reach 18, they are put on planes back to Afghanistan.

I was told why integration failed with some communities in certain cities it is to do with:
                      1. All people coming from a small area of one country
                      2. That area consisting of rural villages
                      3. The immigrants made to do shift patterns in factories that the English workers refused to do.

On the other hand you have things like this where people tried to integrate and were refused. Though they did integrate in their protests even now you get integrated rioting in the UK.
