I think they're all branches from the same root. Most of the major religions throughout history have the same events in their back stories - cataclysmic floods & arks, etc. Even seemingly very different religions like Hinduism with all of the crazy 3 headed tigers and what not.

Mo spent time with Jews and Christians, and Muslims consider Islam to be the (final) successor of Christianity and Judaism (who, according to Mo, failed to implement God's plan).

I'd always thought there was a split in the OT which is where Islam came from (legitimate vs illegitimate children or something like that). I wonder what, if any, religion that spawned since clearly it wasn't Islam!
