An application that has the sole function of reducing the amount of blue light emitted by the display makes things go yellow? Well, what a turn up for the books!

According to https://justgetflux.com/news/pages/macquickstart/ it has "Movie mode" which disables it for 2.5 hours. Have you tried that? Or there's the "Disable for specific app" feature; that might help

Nice, just like my three year old MacBook Pro Retina....

        Your's got a Retina display?

I got used to it. It means I can much more easily watch a film or browse in bed until 01:00 and go straight to sleep. It probably makes films look sub-optimal in some scenes, but it's worth it for me if I'm up that late at night.

Bit confused by the iPad Pro Mini. Does the iPad Pro run OSX or iOS?

Also have iPads got a lot cheaper or have I got richer? It seemed you could get a decent spec one for ~£400, sure it used to be nearly double that?

iOS, though there's a lot of things iOS can only do on the iPad Pro, like the split-screen app stuff.

And yes, they do get cheaper as newer models come in at the high end. Though as far as the normal iPad goes, the top-of-the-range 64GB+cellular iPad 2 was, as far as I can recall, less than £800 when I bought one not long after it came out. I suspect the lowest-memory non-cellular model was between £400 and £500 at the time.

EDIT: just dug out the invoice from September 2011, far down in my mailbox. Turns out it was 549.17 GBP exclusive of VAT for the top-of-the-range iPad 2, so £659 inclusive of VAT.

Just updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 9.3. It seems the NightShift feature isn't enabled by default. It's in Settings > Display and Brightness. It offers the option to set it to a schedule, with "From" and "To" times, or to "Manually enable until tomorrow". There's also a slider for colour temperature, allowing one to adjust it between "Less warm" and "More warm". "Less warm" doesn't appear (to my untrained eye) to make any difference, while "More warm" is so yellow it's just about orange. The default is halfway between the two.

As well as the iPhone 7 (great timing by screen has just broke) I am hoping for an updated MacBook Pro taking some of the styling points from the MacBook

you'll be lucky. Rumour I've heard is mid-October for macbook Pros (replacing the usual Ipad event)..

Its hard to understand what they are doing with the Laptops. As everyone keeps bleating, they are long overdue a new version. However I bought a 13" pro last September and its more than capable for the stuff I am running on it. I spoke to someone last week and there is now a windows 10 build that will work on the little gold mini jobbies. So despite us wanting toys it doesn't seem like they actually need them.
