Well thanks to Apple I have saved about £700 on my self imposed yearly iPhone upgrade. Absolutely nothing new in it whatsoever to consider upgrading the iPhone 6 to a 6S. Ipad Pro is just a big iPad and therefore an even bigger phone without the phone bit. Although might be tempted to get the Apple TV.

Next month will be tougher though. Not sure I will be able to resist a shiny new Surface Pro 4 with Skylake processor when that's announced next month. That feels like it will be a gadget that can replace the current macbook and ipad combination. If there is an option with 16GB Ram then it's already a done deal in my mind.

Either way the company bank account can breath at least a temporary sigh of relief after last nights Apple showing.

Can someone give me the key differences between the 6 & the 6S, I am not considering the 6+ as is just too big for a phone & I have a tablet for use at home.

Also when is the 6S due for release?

      TIA
The 6S will be available on the 25th (orders accepted from the 12th), so a couple of weeks.

I've had a 6 since February, and it's excellent. The improvements on the 6S are primarily much improved processing and graphics power, and the 3D Touch system allowing additional interaction by pressing with different degrees of firmness. That sounds as if it might be a bit of a gimmick, but from the demos I think it will turn out to be a really useful improvement to usability, particularly when third party software catches up (which will be soon).

However, now that the 6S has been announced, the 6 has been relegated, which includes not making the 128GB version available any longer. I would recommend getting a 128GB model if possible, as these things always fill up more quickly than you expect. So that means the 6S.

The 6 is, comparing like for like, £100 less than the 6S; or, to put it another way, you can get a 6S (two weeks from now) for the same amount a 6 would have cost you yesterday. Are the improvements worth £100? I would say yes, particularly if (like me) you're not the kind to get a new phone every year (my purchase in February replaced the 3GS I bought in 2009). If you expect to be using the new phone for at least two years before you think about replacing it, go for the 6S; the extra £100 amounts to less than a quid a week over that time. It also gives you the right to look down with scorn upon paupers like me with my measly iPhone 6

Edit to add: if you like playing graphically intensive fast-moving games on your phone, the 6S is a no-brainer. It's way beyond what the already-impressive 6 can achieve.

It's not showing up yet, but I'd rather wait for one that's not going to get pulled when I'm a large chunk through downloading it (as has happened before).
          Still no show.

Looks like an empty promise then.

Has anyone bought the new 12" Macbook?

Can the HDD be upgraded beyond the 512GB max offering from Apple?

Looks like its a no, so will have to buy a product based on its spec rather than its logo

There's no debate. There are touchy people though.
