They've long ago lost the ability to judge how long a task should take. 30k to make a one-line change to a stored procedure? No problem at all. Where do I sign?

It is coming full circle, there is a reason the Indians are trying to flood the UK right now. They all can't get into the US anymore, in addition if you think we hate them, they really hate them in the USA. I did a gig out there a few years back with a couple of Indians on the team, not welcome at all.
I don't believe it will go full-circle as in companies returning to a era of employing large numbers of technical staff in-house. However I do believe that the cracks in the current offshore business model are wide and irreversible.

My prediction is that within 5 - 10 years we will see significant layoffs among the offshore service providers such as Wipro/Infosys/TCS/Cognizant.

              Depends on their religion....

I can't wait until the only off-shoring is in the EU.

Exactly. In that case unfortunately it was just moaning down the pub as I've never worked at the poor company who had had T-systems inflicted on them.
