Why on earth do you have your address on your CV. Gives the agent a chance to for this to you and also bin you for longer commutable gigs if he has someone closer. Your address adds zero value but can put you at a disadvantage so why?

Anyway what is the recommended email for confirming representstion ? What I want to say is something like I agree for agency Y to represent me exclusively for this role, on condition they put me forward and confirm such in writing within 2 business days of this email, and such agreement to last no more than 2 weeks"
Only better sounding.Comment

Has anyone managed to satisfy an agency with supplying email address for their references, company ones obviously. Just had a right ding dong with an agent who will accept nothing less than phone numbers before putting CV forward. My last two positions have been in the government / mod sector and theirs no way I can give out internal numbers.Comment

Why company ones obviously? Just give them the previous agents names and numbers and you are done.Originally posted by Hoppy View PostHas anyone managed to satisfy an agency with supplying email address for their references, company ones obviously. Has this ever worked? Have any agents been satisfied with this?Originally posted by northernladuk View PostWhy company ones obviously? Yup. They want a reference, that's a reference. There is nothing to argue. Many clients won't give references for contractors so if the agent pushes it point that out. If the agent still pushes it's not a genuine role so move on.Originally posted by GlenW View PostHas this ever worked? Have any agents been satisfied with this?
Shouldnt really be doing any of this before the CV is submitted either but I have no problems giving the agents names at that point.Last edited by northernladuk; 8 December 2015, 11:10.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

You've actually given two previous agencies as references and they have been accepted?Originally posted by northernladuk View PostYup. They want a reference, that's a reference. They are desperate for leads. I have referees that I respect and want to protect from people who offer me nothing in return. They won't get references from me until I'm at the screening/onboarding process and the client requires them.Originally posted by Hoppy View PostHas anyone managed to satisfy an agency with supplying email address for their references, company ones obviously.
