    BDO Update

I spoke to Cassie about 2 hours ago and she said they have had a lot of correspondence with RBS today. She said that she thinks Veritas will go into administration tomorrow, however she said that every day last week so don't hold your breath. I am worried that we are not getting anywhere at the moment. No One really knows how we can...if we can..get our money. I do beleive that some corporates have paid their contractors direct so not to loose them...lucky guys.

        How can they do this

It seems to me that Messrs Giller, Villa-Buil and Lawless are getting away scot free and will probably be associated with the "Phoenix" company when it rises. Legislation should be changed, maybe worth getting someone prominent involved - any suggestions? All I know is they owe a lot of people a lot of money, how can they be considered to be "reliable and honest" to trade again, which they will no doubt do and surely no-one in their right mind would ever consider being associated with them again??

If I had money that was being owed to me I would be forcing them to be wound up.

Thats the way it is going guys - they are NOT going to be bought out*.

All these posts of "keep submitting time sheets" is bull - I strongly suspect that they are by ex veritas people who are trying to bolster their balance sheets.

I personally would rather not submit the time sheet let the client keep the dough (if I got on well with them). If you are submitting time sheets to veritas I highly doubt that you are going to see any of it so why bother.

          * I don't know tulip about this case specifics.

Would there be any mileage in a handful of us making a formal complaint to the Company Investigation Branch of the Insolvency Service? Knowingly trading while insolvent is an offense and they might be interested.

Is this the right room for an argument?

As previously mentioned IF they go into administration then you don't have to submit a timesheet for the client to be billed, your timesheet becomes a "nice to have" rather than a necessity.

I'm with you on forcing them to be wound up though - since the contractors are very unlikely to see anything other than a tiny bit of their money then why let the Directors of Veritas keep p*ssing about? with SCI it was the contractors who issued the winding up order - had enough of not getting paid and then being messed around with empty promises.

                  That's a double negative.

Yep...if people wish to make a donation of their hard earned readies, I'll give it a good home.

                      winding up order

I am now starting the process of winding up Veritas:

In order to do this I have to fill out a 'statutory demand' (Form 4.1)

                      http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/freedom...rt5/part_5.htm

The winding-up petition will be presented in:

                      The High Court,
                      Royal Courts of Justice
                      Companies Court
                      TM 2.09
                      Strand
                      London WC2A 2LL

If I get any reference number or anything I will post it on here, but if you wish to do the same then feel free.

I am also looking to ensure that this cannot happen again, and will be seeking the disqualification of all the directors.

I am also going to ensure that the directors are held to account for trading whilst insolvent and as much as I do not want to see them go to jail this is the only way to ensure that they have to put their hands in their pocket and pay some debts. This is the only way to make sure that they pay up.
