Max, thank you for the concern but fortunately its not a money issue with the mortgage company it is just paperwork, I need a payslip or P45, I need confirmation of the company going into administration. None of this seems like it is going to arrive anytime soon, so I have to rely on my mortgage company believing me which is not great!!Comment

You CANNOT invoice the client directly all the while the contract the client has with Veritas is in place, unless the client is willing to pay twice for the work you have done.
Whether or not a timesheet exists is a moot point and proably not in anyones interest to withold or argue over.
Rather than discussing the merits of submitting timesheets or not, end your contract and either go to an umbrella or go direct if you are able to.
As it stands, the status of Veritas is that legally it is still trading and CAN, if it wants to, invoice clients for the work being done. The fact that they are not paying contractors is nothing to do with this.
Again, end your contract (you can give notice or claim a fundamental breach of contract) and move to another agency. Do not hang around debating timesheets and not actually improving your situation and risking losing more money or worse.
We're all hacked off, but in these situations, what we think is right and should be done doesn't really work - it's the law that counts, for better or worse. What we CAN do, is seek advice, rally together and fight for some kind of justice.
As a further thought, there is nothing to stop you giving notice and not submitting any timesheets if you are not at the clients site e.g. "on holiday" so you could, I think, start somewhere else right away.Last edited by funkyd; 3 October 2007, 11:06.Comment

Legal advice
Is there any point in me getting a solicitor?
If Veritas are going into administration their assets will be frozen and as has been stated elsewhere on this thread, I will come after the milkman when it comes to handouts.
So what action could a solicitor take?

I have received my P45 today along with a letter saying that my employment finished on the 19th September. I would say to all contractors to end their contract as of this date and get your company to go with another agency.Just spoken to Rob at BDO and he said that nothing has changed. They have until next Tues to sell. I am telling you now any invoices paid now will go straight to the bank, you will not see a penny. The companies you guys are working for should have by now terminated their contract with Veritas and gone with someone else. Greg Marcus and Jason should never be able to run a company again after this. It is up to us to make sure they dont!!!Comment

Seems that one of the directors and 2 of the staff have sufaced now and are advertising more OSS jobs in south africa. Where has the money gone to pay the first lot!!! I wonder. Is this really fair....This company is on jobserve and is only 1 week old. DisgustingComment

the winding up order has hit, it will take a couple of days to get to them, but they now know I am serious.
Also, I have not had my P45 but they are not allowed to maintain your last day was the 19th, they have to terminate your contract with immediate effect, therefore today or possibly yesterday, and the directors have been told this by BDO.
If anyone wants to get more info on the court action my email is [email protected]Comment

May be you could have a word with a debt recovery service.
www.creditsafe.co.uk is one I have heard of in the past.
Not sure how much help they can be given Veritas situation, but IMHO, worth a call ..

loosing patience
OK it looks like we will never get to see our money staff or contractors so we need to make sure these so called Directors never work again...Is there anyway we can make sure this happens. Two things we all have in common is that we are P**** off and that we all want these 3 to pay for what they have done. It is clear that they all knew what was going on in their company a long time ago. They looked some of us in the face and said ' Its business as usual' They have had every opportunity to come clean but no they have let us all work knowing we will not get a penny. They have made fools out of all of us. The last straw for me is when I heard one of the directors had to take their kids out of private school....oh dear what a shame, guess what my kids have to walk to school ( state school) because I can not afford the petrol!!!I know I am not the only one that feels like this so what are we going to do about it???Comment
