My point is that it's much harder to become non-UK resident since the SRT was legislated. Also, it is very hard to move overseas "temporarily" and avoid tax on dividends or capital gains that were accrued in the UK.

As to why you'd move to the UAE, I have no idea. There are much nicer places and some of them have equally good or better tax regimes for contractors.

very true. If you live and pay tax there then you don't need to pay tax here as well.

          almost.
If you live there. and pay tax on your earnings you have made there, then you only pay that tax there.
That does not make you no longer tax resident in the UK though. Which is what others are driving at. International tax law is complex.
There are loads of UA/UK ex pat forums. They might be a better source on this subject.

If you have a job abroad and spend most of the year abroad then you are automatically non tax resident in the UK - I have ignored what happens if the kids, wife and dog stay behind but this is not difficult or controversial

I worked abroad for seven years and the primary reason was salary after tax given the pound was so weak - Now it has weakened further I am not surprised that people are thinking of working abroad - Why work in London when you can earn double in Switzerland or even more in Dubai

One question for the OP is, having no knowledge of Dubai, what is the general salary over there for a white collar professional tech role vis a vis the UK number? I might give this serious consideration myself (and keep the UK property as well ! if I took the role )

Some inconvenience things like mortgage roll over when not in UK and split year tax in first and last year but all easy to work out

Funny, he worked abroad while successfully managing the UK income from his UK BTL empire he's told us about.
Maybe he put that empire in someone else's name while he was on the toblerone.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

I will never understand how people with family/friends/social life in one place can just pack everything up and move somewhere else just because they could earn a few more bucks.

DA / analytics don't shout niche skills, so why would they even think of hiring you in the first place? if it's board level , they will most likely go with someone local as those people will fit in easier with the existing team. How many applications have you sent through already?
