The original question is why do contract rates not move with inflation and I have not heard a satisfactory answer other than you need to increase productivity to ask for more cash

Just to give some colour - Rates used to be 650 a day in 2010 and were plentiful outside IR35 - Fast forward ten years and they have not moved much and now require you to be insideIR35. They should be 850++ just adjusting for the under reported inflation CPI gauge...

Maybe it is just me but I look at rightmove each day to see what houses are for sale to gauge the price of my house. I am sure many others do that
I would have thought that rates (not jobserve where the recruiters say "market rates" or "top rates") are a common topic...
