Right done applications, scrolled though LI.

Going cycling. 90mins, 25miles with 10*1min sprints. Followed by gym.

Same as yesterday and the week, month and year before.

If only I wasn't lacking talent and fitness, I could take on the TDF.

I'll be so glad when I land my next contract. The very first thing I'll be doing before popping the champagne cork will be deleting LinkedIn from my phone. Some of the tulip posted on that site is off the scale. I'm gipping while I scroll through it all, looking for that needle in a haystack, outside IR35, remote, good rate.

Me too - 100% remote since 2013 and for spells prior to that. Had a sniff of a side hustle once but never came to anything.

I'm the opposite. Up to my eyeballs in technical contract work, so not getting any exercise just developing worse eyesight in front of a screen and growing a little pot belly.

I see quite often well paid outside IR 35 roles for - AI Security Architects. Seems quite a niche skill but also makes sense that it is in demand because with AI systems its so easy to leak data. Not sure security work is for me, but thought I'd mention it as it seems to be a genuine niche and currently sought after skill that is creating contract work.

Up to you, as in all things. But I wouldn't.
Unless it's the last contract you ever intend to take, and you don't value or haven't maintained any genuine contacts there.

You don't have to read all that crap. Just check your messages, go to the jobs, look through methodically and get out.

The app is an odious, malevolent piece of spyware to be sure. You might find the webpage more managable.

What are the contractor rates like in Poland compared to the UK and do they operate in a simalar manor to IR35, i.e. Taxed to high heaven?

                  Why are you leaving?
Some larger tech corps that have been originally outsourcing to Poland, have now closed part of the hubs and move worked to India, some to other parts of Easter(n) Europe as work is becoming more and more expensive in Poland itself.

Not sure on specific rates as I'm not really in IT, but as the cost of living in Poland is lower than UK, the rates are typically also lower. Of course there's always a chance of getting a contract with more "european" rate levels, but I'd say that's rarer these days. Tax wise it's a bloody heaven (mate of mine pays close to 20% on all his "profits" - he's a one man band "company"), there's no IR35, you can often pick if you want perm or b2b and no one bats an eyelid.

Leaving due to family related reasons + the fact that property wise I can afford a bloody cupboard-sized cottage down south and still have to take on a 30yr mortgage. Lovely part of the country (although even with it housing some super wealthy people it's crumbling to dust left / right / center), some great people, just not really affordable unless you earn £250k and your partner is on the same.

Good plan, no point in keeping all your eggs in one basket.

If your absolutely desperate for work & have bills to pay & mouths to feed then there are a number of Windows 11 + Co-Pilot Trade Floor migration projects going on right now via linkedin where you will be sub sub contracted as the end client refuses to accept the 1st sub BS nonsense of we can only get XYZ for this bottom feeder rate £....

All the agencies involved who have contacted me are from india & seem desperate to hire people with extensive relevant experience on bottom feeder rates.....I just CBA to bother dealing with them anymore & getting the final absolute day rate & how long the role will last is like extracting blood out of a stone as is getting a jobspec.

2 agencies wetting their beaks before you get a sniff of your day rate

They seem desperate though do not think there are many genuine applicants who fit the bill & can pass the extensive vetting processes.

All these financial services companies are so short sighted & always the same they leave it to the last possible moment before looking at doing these essential projects (or pay MS for Win 10 extended support which is quite expensive....!).
