Not buying that, you know fine well that no one talks to each other on the tube.

Trying to engage in conversation on the tube marks you down as 1) a mentalist or 2) a Northerner

He had a negative bluety on a quackhandle and was quadraspazzed on a lifeglug.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

The tube is usually really noisy but regular trains are easier.

I once ended up getting a job after chatting to a woman sitting next to me. She was in the same industry that I had a first interview for later that day. We spoke for 15 minutes and she mentioned the name of a friend she had at the company I was interviewing for.

Cut a long story short, her friend was the hiring manager. I mentioned this to the recruiter and he told the hiring manager.

At the next interview, this woman walks in and the first thing she says is "I hear you've been stalking my friends on the train!"

Needless to say, this broke the ice and I got the job

Good fortune can happen if you open yourself up to interacting with more people including people on the train.

Absolutely or, perish the thought, find someone you already employ with the correct aptitude to learn it and train them.

Let’s put an advert out offering it for 25k then get someone in on a Visa for 80% of the going rate*.

*Has to be the the going rate now, in the interests of balance.

I've just about had it and ready to throw the towel in can't keep going like this....had a call yesterday saying I had an interview the job came up a few weeks back but then they never got back to me if I was shortlisted for interview or not.....so either someone started and it didn't work out or someone pulled out so the role came back on is my take.

Anyways the agent called me yesterday says oh they want to see you and sorry I have ignored your calls/emails...supposed to get details yesterday for the interview but nothing.

Chased up today and told I would have the interview details by COP today...nothing so reckon it is another waste of time.

            It is a joke...

Spoke to another agent this morning who had contacted me they weer all keen then few hours later went cold won't answer my calls or email me back....probably found someone in the meantime who will work for half the price.

I want out of this malarkey

And your problem with mentalists and Northerners is what?

We should probably discuss this in person (that's the mentalist side).

Equally you could pay another £10/day to have some bloke dig a hole in a field and fill it back in again; that would "add" to the economy too.

Really, Schumi, you are continuing to bang your head against a brick wall hoping against hope that things will go back to the way they were before. That if you could just behave in a manner you behaved in the past (working in an office rather than at home) that suddenly the economy and job market will go back to the way it was operating in the past. Well it won't - because things have changed.

Think all the decent agents have left the industry as seems to be load of idiots left. I got called two weeks ago, said client wanted to interview me on that Wednesday or Thursday. I said either is fine. Heard back yesterday, over a week later. Agent had been sick and role has now been filled.

                    I am, yes.

There is so much office space which is available. In London and outside, that should be rented out.

If the companies are not spending any money on offices, then what do we do with all that space? There is enough accomodation in flats and houses, see Wembley, if you want to see the developments in housing for an example.

Someone or some company own that office space and they can't get tenants, therefore is costing them money rather than making money. If they are making money then there is tax to pay on that etc etc..
