So in the space of 6 months the industry and commerce in the UK have ditched BA and PM roles?

Yeah, I thought the same. But didn't know whether chappie's comment was designed just to provoke.

If not, I am a PM and the State of the Market, for me, is just fine. One contract finished in July, found the current two-month one in a week. This is ending mid-October, and have the next one lined up to start the Monday after the Friday. Rate increases with every move.

Again, not to brag but just to wonder at GoT's comment while at the same time offer an alternative view of the Market.

I'm a BA, and as you'll see from my posts here, there are roles being offered (sometimes, depends what day you ask me)

They tend to fall into 4 categories

          1) You've used this bit of software before
          2) You've worked for one of our competitors
          3) (Less often) We can see you've taken on a variety of projects in different industries so you may be able to adapt to ours
          4) Hiring manager has been on a course, they also want people who have been on a course. No one cares if we create a crap, over budget product as long as it was done in an Agile/ITIL/whatever fashion

It's all bollocks really though, cultural fit is king.

Based on other posts, this. Might be a chapette though.

I have. Apart from an initial challenge getting access to the portal, it was all fine. I no issues with invoices being paid on time.

I'm a Project and Programme Manager - Business Change. Freelance for the last 5 years. Finished a good contract last December and took time off for an leg Operation, then did some travelling. Started looking again in August and have been shocked just how bad the market is.

Seems to be a few Techie IT Project Mgr roles, but the big meaty Business Change Stuff has evaporated. I guess BREXIT has put lots of businesses off doing anything. Vast majority of Public Sector work is now inside IR35, so that's out.

So I agree with lots of the comments on here. WTF is next? Definitely not going back to Permie, so might have to do something else. No mortgage, working wife, military pension and a good war chest means I can layabout. But it's been 10 months since I worked. All the get-around-to-it jobs are done. Summer was great, but with winter looming...

I blame politicians. I hate politicians.

Would you rather go permie or take a contract inside ir35?
