Is that the old "dressing gown" thread, or something else?

Ah, so many great posters no longer posting. Not sasguru.

Well some good news for me, got extension till end of year, so bloody relieved.

I have applied for another contract elsewhere, it's a very very niche area, but it's via an agency / consultancy which would be hiring me out and I have a feeling the end end client just looked at the cost and went nah (although the still have time till next week to tell me). Could also do a walk-back to an older client as they are short of that niche skill, so there's options, but the current assignment is such a mess it's actually fairly relaxing as no one knows anything and with it being a scandi client, everyone is just chill.

Anyways, thought I'd throw a positive story in here as it's all doom and gloom (and rightly so).

          Thanks.

Plenty of perm roles and on reasonable rates for Halifax for those looking for that type of thing.

Seeing an inordinate amount of contracts requiring SC or DV clearance on JobServe.

My theory is the SC and DV contracts are less affected by market pressures but in better times they are diluted by non-SC contracts so you don't notice as much.

Second actual conversation with an actual agent this week and it's looking quite positive. Long way from getting anything across the line, I know, but there is 'hope'. Outside and fully remote too. Similar rate to the last gig. Similar tech.

Let's hope there are some around when I'm looking - appear to have reached the end of the road in my current [much hated] role.

Well considering the whole US - UA - UK situation, it makes sense.

I've seen the same over the last few weeks. It's either SC/DV or roles in insurance. Which feels eerily similar to early 2024...
