Our own are on the scrap heap and we are subsidising other countries …it’s can’t carry on. Time for people to go …other countries put their own citizens first and this ain’t working…there is growing resentment…something has to give.

In a few years it will become so obvious right now the government do not know or do not care enough to do something about it due to their stupid one sided deal with India........!

Cancel that agreement kick the lot out will be a positive start in the right direction but its not going to happen is it! When NI & Tax coffers have dropped drastically they might look up for a few mins to see what's going on LOL!

Whilst it might be news to the government, it isn't to public sector civil servants, why do you think we have IR35?. It's due to them hating self employed contractors. HMRC is using non UK FTC's in large numbers and that includes its suppliers. But they never learn, it might be cheaper per week, but when a project takes 3 times longer, it works out more expensive. However, it's the taxpayers money, so who cares. One of my last projects was 20 contractors to 1 permie, they cancelled most contracts.

Get used to it, as I will keep on making the argument. We are a civilised country and while the government might have made a mistake giving out so many IT related Visas it isn't the fault of the people who went through the legal process, some of which now have children with no connections to the country their parents came from.

Absolutely no one gives two tulips that contractors who have been earning big bucks for the last 20yrs now suddenly can't find a job, get real. Also anyone over 50 will now struggle to land jobs as everyone is trying to cut costs and would rather take on grads and "train" them up than pay more money for experience.

Get used to it lol!! Touchy

There is no "might have made a mistake giving out so many iT related visas" ....that is the under statement of the century...it is been a total and utter balls up...there is no shortage it was done fro one reason only cheap labour and screwed over those from the UK....youngsters and oldies alike cannot get jobs because of the flood of the market from India... what is done now remains to be seen but it needs correcting without a doubt. Other countries would return those no longer needed it is as simple as that...yep life is not fair but it cuts both ways...I know so many in same boat have been under cut and cannot get work. This has been building for over a decade but now is at crisis point

Besides, I would take an educated guess that that offshoring is the main reason for a decline in demand and that can't really be stopped by government.
