What is bad is the almost total economic stagnation in the UK+EU.
Read today about 6,000 IT workers being re-assessed at Lloyds tsb, not sure what to make of it.

Can replace the permis with inside IR35, low rates to now have a flexible, cheap workforce. Without having to pay holidays, sick leave or redundancy payments should the business change.
The worst part is that immigration will support this. i.e. Cheap labour from outside being brought in.
Being highly skilled in IT is like being a quality bricklayer now, easily replaceable with multiple bodies.Comment

I've been saying this for ages mass immigration has destroyed IT ....cheaper labour has been being brought in for a long while and we are sunk and no one is addressing it...

There was a review into the amount of IT visas but no idea if it progressed.

Pension, holidays, sick pay etc etc all massive payroll overheads...employing bottom feeders eliminates all of those costs even though they are paying the outsourcer massive fees......!
It too late now its not going to change much if your in IT unless its a really niche role look to pivot to something else pronto as they are coming in such vast numbers few decent paying IT jobs will be left!

In a few years it will become so obvious right now the government do not know or do not care enough to do something about it due to their stupid one sided deal with India........!
Cancel that agreement kick the lot out will be a positive start in the right direction but its not going to happen is it! When NI & Tax coffers have dropped drastically they might look up for a few mins to see what's going on LOL!
