It's those 6 years plus the other years that make me cut out. I've 15 years of industry experience to bring to my clients. Not every role a contractor does can be learnt and delivered right off the back of a degree. Depends on what you skills you sell to a client.

It's called gaining experience and learning your craft.
It used to be important prior to commencing contracting.

It will also be why some of us are on 1.5 to 2* what you charge.
Reading some of what you have written, on here, I was on your rates 16 years ago, right back when I started.

I'm still on my first year of contracting you know? Who knows where i'll be in 16 years but the fact you are still working after all this time tells me you fail at investing at the very least

Experience and reputation rarely come from doing short term contracts or client hopping.

In the last 10 years I've spent 8 of them at 3 clients and I expect that those 3 will have need for me over the next 10 years. There are 2 more clients I would like to add to my list, one to complete a set and one to see if they do supplier discounts on their products.

Contracting is a long term thing. If you want to make it as a contractor...
                1. Don't get too greedy
                2. Don't abuse the system too much
                3. Don't be a whiner
                4. Don't be too arrogant
                5. Don't be a slacker

After that, it's a lifestyle choice.

Oh yes, we know. Your responses show that very clearly.

What an arrogant and idiotic thing to say.
