It used to be important prior to commencing contracting.
It will also be why some of us are on 1.5 to 2* what you charge.

Experience and reputation rarely come from doing short term contracts or client hopping.
In the last 10 years I've spent 8 of them at 3 clients and I expect that those 3 will have need for me over the next 10 years. There are 2 more clients I would like to add to my list, one to complete a set and one to see if they do supplier discounts on their products.
Contracting is a long term thing. If you want to make it as a contractor...
1. Don't get too greedy
2. Don't abuse the system too much
3. Don't be a whiner
4. Don't be too arrogant
5. Don't be a slacker
After that, it's a lifestyle choice.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
