Hahaha. I've never understood people who get all worked up about other people's business, whether it's marking their comings and goings or whatever. My job doesn't really have anything to do with them, so they have no cause to feel anything about what I get up to. There are many reasons why people could have funny hours or be taking phone calls, just get on with your own work, says I!

Maybe you don't understand but the reality is they do get worked up\take an interest. Remember also you are the incomer not them.

I may walk a line between confidence and arrogant, but I'm selling my labour here and that's already a pretty cynical situation to be in. I'm not going to put pretty flowers on it and keep my head down because it's "professional" any more than I'm going to wear a tie.

On that note I'm done. All the advice given that points how you can do all these things and still be a professional has fallen flat here. You must be totally correct as you have bigger cojones than us. Fill your boots.

I'm not here to give people therapy or help them cross the street. I small talk people at the tea kettle like anyone else, but there are limits as to how far I'm willing to bend. If I need to line up another job and the time I have available is company time, so be it. They're not paying me for sick leave or holidays so whatever.
