Every single call I recieve goes to voicemail unless I know who's calling and REALLY want to speak to them NOW. In that case, I will say hang on and step out of the office. But I dont overdo that.
Most times I wait until lunch/end of day to call back or occasionally will find somewhere quiet.
Sorry speaking with agents in the office in earshot is a sure fire way to pee off permies, managers the whole lot.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

It's all about context. Big office, far from managers, one permie; don't care about pissing him off. But yes, tact is important, I'll acknowledge that.Comment

Permie managers listen to their reports and will take what they say over what you say. You realise that don't you?Last edited by northernladuk; 23 February 2016, 10:16.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!Comment

There are many reasons why people could have funny hours or be taking phone calls, just get on with your own work, says I!
Bearing in mind you are the only person in this thread with this stance and everyone else has given the opposite same advice would it not be wise to listen and think about it rather than just dig your heels in? Doesn't make you look very good at all.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!Comment
