In his original post he doesnt say it was an emergency. Its only in subsequent posts he mentions this. I have grave doubts he mentioned this to the client if he 'forgets' to mention it in his original post and instead mentions having no problems with his 'leaves' (curious term) in another contract. He also mentions he believes can take time when he wants.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostHarsh if as OP explains it was an emergency. So are you saying that if same happened to you and client point blank said tough tulipe put us first we dont care you'd stick around too?
Say, for example, family member was ill, in hospital or something like that. You turn around to client and say sorry I've got to go home because, sorry about that, hopefully I'll be back in x days, promise I'll make an effort to catch up. They say no you aint, stay here we dont give a stuff. Are you saying you'd say ok sorry wife/sick child client comes first? Buggered if I would.
It may be the case that he did mention it to the client but theres still ways and means of doing this.
I've never known a client terminate never mind refuse a request for an urgent medical emergency.I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

It was such an emergency he didn't bother to tell the client why he couldn't change the date and what type of emergency it was...Originally posted by jmo21 View Post
He has stated clearly twice in this thread that the first time he discussed with the client, that is was an emergency situation."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Sorry butOriginally posted by jmo21 View PostHe did. The first time. Just in not in his original post here.
He has stated clearly twice in this thread that the first time he discussed with the client, that it was an emergency situation.doesnt sound like someone who's explained he has an emergency that needs tending to.......I have never been in a situation where any of my leaves were questioned, as being contractor I do expect to work as and when I want and I can.I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

Only taking him at what he says later in the thread, he did tell them it was an emergency in the first meeting.Last edited by jmo21; 7 October 2014, 13:28.Comment

Is it only me that thinks there is more to this than meets the eye. If the client can't deal with 2 days off how is he going to cope with the guy not being there at all. Sounds like he is chopping his own nose off to spite his face.... which then leads me to believe there is a lot more in play here than him asking for two days off. I guess that bit we will never know so we can't really advise on the situation.
OP has to suck it up and move on.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

I guess it depends on how often the OP has these emergencies. Maybe the client just had a guts full.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostIs it only me that thinks there is more to this than meets the eye.
