Does anyone have any good ideas for the JR and if we can help our case. Whenever I have been in court I have noticed how the judges **love** an audience - even if they are totally against the judge! I guess that mostly they get empty courts with a couple of crusty barristers - so the chance of some actual Joe Public to show off to is just too good to miss.

How about we got some t-shirts printed? Something like "Why bother with bn66 - all I own is this lousy t-shirt"?

    hmmm - not very snappy.......

I personally always thought that the 2 "voting settlers" were HMRC in disguise anyway.

I think a t-shirt would be a great idea. I'm hoping I can attend the JR, as long as its not too close to our new baby arriving!

Hmm, I'm not very good at mottos, but how about:

Big Brother loves Retrospective Tax (with a heart shape maybe)
        HMRC Victim inside
        Hector picked my wallet
Hector picked my wallet and I liked it
        Her Majesty's Racket Corruptors

If we all came with different slogans on our t-shirts, it would be great!

Are am I completely missing the point?
I think it was more a case of IF they deliberately employ tactics to disrupt MP then we could return the favour.

For example, at the moment they have only issued 10% of closure notices. Why so few? Suppose they held the majority back to release all in one go at the end of the year. This would completely swamp MP at a time when they would normally be concentrating on filing tax returns to meet the Jan 31 deadline.

And of course this year they will be filing online(paper deadline was 31st Oct). So they will have the HMRC systems to deal with at the busiest time!

Of course this will affect millions - and no doubt it will be the taxpayer fault (HMRC are never wrong).

Good point! Of course admin could check the ip addresses - but no doubt they took their work home and voted from there!

Thinking back to the "Newsletter" its amazing how eager HMRC are to honour their obligations to collect the tax following BN66 and FA 2008.

Surely, if they genuinely believed the laws were on their side they would have taken more positive steps to collect and enforce prior to the changes in the law... There are therefore only two conclusions, one that it wasn't law before FA 2008 or secondly that HMRC failed to do their job for 5 years.

Was Jane Kennedy relieved of her role as Treasury Minister so she could not be held so accountable for her lies to the Treasury Committee? Would the Govt be so cynical?

                  T-shirt

How about this "Retro" t-shirt from the 80's, coincidentally around the time the legislation was backdated to.

Imagine the scene if a few hundred people turned up to the High Court all wearing this!

YES!! I love it. I'm going to order mine now..
It should be possible to customise the tee shirt with a large "BN66" in a similar font between the 2 flames underneath the car!
YES! We could get stickers done to make it easier and apply them on the days...

Suggest in the New year - Feb? - we set up another thread specifically for the JR. Meeting places / news / photos / etc.

Together we are strong! Also might be a good idea to add to the BN66 News thread details and links to all related threads - especially for newcomers to get them up to speed and point them in the right direction.
