Distraint Notices
Some people have received these, typically a few days after the closure notices.
I have checked with MP, and HMRC have sent them out by mistake.
If you receive one, contact MP and they will sort it out with your tax office.Comment

I'm guessing its HMRC going totally OTT...and the fact that they've admitted issuing them in error will not help their case at all...Comment

That is absolutely incredible! "By mistake", they are treading on thin ice
here, and it's certainly worth £500 in my book....

In other words HMRC has to have made one of their regular mistakes and you have to fit into one of the above categories. Nothing available for anyone else it would seem.
You have a better chance of claiming expenses. Unfortunately, that does not cover a claim for time where you act as your own Counsel. Loaded again. They've already taken 6 years to get to where we are now, how long to make a successful claim?
