    Got my letter this morning

    Comment

I am getting increasingly concerned about the amount of newbies asking for details of the case and Montp's approach. I for one will not divulge any info, as we could quite easily without meaning too jeopardise their strategy by leaking it to Hector in disguise. Sorry guys if you PM me I wont answer, I just cant take the risk and you will in time anyway if you are real scheme users.

actually I think thats good caution Smalldog, but to be fair, everyone has been harping on about lurkers contributing and here we are!

Last thing I want is to tip Hector off, but thought reliable people on this board may have been interested in an info exchange considering I managed to pin down my scheme providers for a face to face.

I actually found something critical out, that I believe a lot of people here havent considered.

But if its every person for themself, good luck to everyone, as the goal is the same.

I agree, although I suspect it will end up in Hector's hands anyway as there must be at least a few disgruntled clients out there who have either already thrown in the towel or are in cahoots with the likes of Warr & Co.

I am sure MontP realise that the contents of the Circular won't remain private forever. However, let's make sure that this forum is not the source of any leak.

Personally I'm glad to see more people joining in, if only to help drown out the likes of Mal and Gooner. I think we just need to be careful that's all, and remember that our adversaries are reading this as well.

Is it safe to share your info here?

I don't really see how that can be in any way effective. I'm pretty sure that HMRC will be all to aware of the contents of any advice you have received. In any event when/if it does go to a hearing surely all the normal disclosure rules will apply ?

I understand "keeping ones powder dry" is an often cited argument, but in reality I think it is probably entirely futile. Often quite the reverse.

If the provider has something that is going to defeat the away side this will be disclosed well before hearing - giving ample chance for rebuttal. If the away team are aware of this earlier and it is a killer blow surely that is helpful ?

Just a slightly different view of course.

Mal and Gooner are the only two talking sense, if you had the wit to listen instead of trying to blame the messenger. You've been told why you're ina mess, why your cunning plan is too dependent on a company that seems to have its own agenda and why you needed to get yourselves organised enough to present a combined front to help defend the situation. I've also pointed out the glaring weaknesses on your case so you might have had some idea about how to strengthen them. All I've seen is a dozen or so people scrabbling around for bits of info from their paid suppliers and "PM me and I'll tell you a secret".

I wish you well, I really do, but I think you're colelectively doomed.
                    Blog? What blog...?

                      Disclosure

I have been with Montp for 5 years. I have not received my letter from them yet but have requested an electronic copy.

If the letter is issued by a lawyer, acting in a legal capacity, eg a tax lawyer, then the content of the letter is likely to be classified as "privileged", a legal term whereby the content of client/attorney communications do not need to be disclosed to the opposition (hi Mr B ).
