Does anyone know how to open a (client) Dell laptop with a stuck latch?

Although given that the latch is a simple piece of sliding metal, the fact that it's stuck is probably due to a foreign object being caught in the slot somewhere.Coffee's for closersComment

Business card strong glossy one (try one from a Pimp or garage - plastic a lot of them). Slide in to left of latch over to right.
Or try bleeding the radiators.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

I never did manage it in the end, Mr C sorted it when he go home...
There's no point using the knife, the latch is inside the casing and sometimes the open button shifts and jams the latch, preventing it from opening.
