Worth thinking about usage and how that may affect convenience of either one big screen or two or more smaller screens.

Some examples from personal experience:

One big screen is more aggro resizing windows, where two smaller screen just click maximize for one window on each screen.

Two screens mean you may end up using just one screen mostly and then have the hassle of finding the missing windows that are being displayed on the monitor currently turned off.

Too small a screen for the resolution (e.g. 4k on a 28") and it's impractical for reading stuff without increasing the font sizes so may as well get a cheaper lower res monitor.

Too big and it's uncomfortable to sit at normal distance on a desk, especially if over 40", hence some are curved.

Too narrow height wise and you'll want another monitor stacked on top. e.g. those super wide screens doing 5k x 1440. Like looking through a letterbox.

Worth spending more for a quality panel. e.g. IPS instead of TN

Check pixel density of your current monitor/laptop against the candidates and how different it is to gauge how much better or worse it may be at native settings.

Above also useful for determining if 4k is really any better than HD at your typical viewing distance.

Been using Acer Nitro XV273KP at hope, 120/144 Hhz - FreeSync and also GSync compatible.

Or hold out till end of 2021/2022 to get newer gen with DisplayPort 2.0 and above 120 Hhz on UHD

As with a lot of things there does seem to be a complete lack of instock decent options you really only have that LG or the Dell equivalent.

It's going to be a second screen so don't want anything quite that wide, otherwise yes, excellent bit of kit.

34" Dell. Then you only need one monitor.

I found it a bit fiddly to get used to but loving it now

Samsung 34" Ultrawide. Had mine 2 years and wouldn't ever go back to a smaller screen. Great for multi-tasking and for gaming too.
