Lunch has been half a large Dickinson & Morris pork pie
I didn't feel too bad for much of this morning. Then just before lunch, I came over all of a slump. I'd just been working on something; not going to make that mistake again
Luckily, the stuff that needs to be done this afternoon can be done by the others while I cheer them on from the sidelines. And there's the weekly departmental meeting mid-afternoon, which I use as an excuse to grab a coffee and some biscuits and do nothing for an hour or so

MorningAfternoon.
Wednesday.
Dry.
Sunny.
Blue sky.
Cool in here at 15.1 deg, 15 in the kitchen, 13.5 in the leanto, 10 in the salting house.
1021 mBar, 30.15 in Hg, 765.8 Torr, 14.81 psi, (up from 1020 last night), 59% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 4th of January 2020 BR 14 popped in & was a tad grumpy (with reason), and watched a thing about Clive James Postcard from London, followed by his interview with Mary Beard whilst he was dying, and NF got around to watching "predator (1987)" again.
Washing frenzy in progress.
Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine. Weeded the parents' and brother's grave.
Lunch: brunch.
Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about something.
More work on next door's shed: fixed the bottom of door jamb a bit more firmly to the rest of the crumbling structure and removed a large ivy creeper that was in the way. Indoor ivy in the shed, it's a thing in that shed. Even dug the circular saw out & used that to cut the new half rotten bit of wood I installed rather than the ancient ripsaw I used yesterday.
Managed to ignore him & her next door by hiding in the garage as they walked past to avoid saying things I couldn't take back.
Hope he appreciates the £1 I'm leaving him in my will against the £300k for his sister.
Not that I've ever been known to bear a grudge. Much. After all the dissector of human remains is still above ground as far as I'm aware..
Now outside a mediocre cup of Tesco instant coffee so feeling a bit better.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; Today, 16:41.

Morning all
Blue sky and lumps of fluff. Currently 13 degrees with a high of 16 expected. The fluff may wane as the day progresses. Barometer up to 1026 mBar.
Sunrise 05:50; Sunset 18:25
The butter I bought at the farmers' market tastes different to the one I normally buy from the supermarket. I expected this but it's also requiring recalibration. The toasted hot cross bun is no worse off.

Morning denizens
Cloudy start, but dry and expected to clear up later. It's 5°C with a goal of 15°, and the barometers are up a bit more at 1014/1022mB
The lurgy doesn't seem to be any worse, though I don't think it's any better either. Feeling very physically tired already, which isn't a good sign considering all I've done is get up, shower, and make coffee

I managed to read some more of Caledonian Road. Just worked out that I'm about a seventh of the way through, so I'll need to speed up a bit if I'm to finish it any time soon
The lurgy, whatever it may be, has me feeling extremely run down. But I don't think it's got any worse today, and the paracetamol seems to be keeping the worst at bay
Goodnight all

Another day done. Only two more to go till the weekend!
This afternoon, I remembered to put the mundane laundry on, so that's now done and dried
It's clouded over a fair bit again outside, though with some patches of blue hither and yon

Medicinal lunch: Heinz chicken soup, with white toast
I took some paracetamol before starting work, and it seems to have helped a little. By great good fortune our main task for this morning was a rather dull housekeeping thing involving a lot of copying, pasting, and cross-checking stuff. This turned out to be about the mental level I was capable of without too much effort. I would have found it extremely tedious if I'd been OK, but under the circumstances, it was quite satisfying

I did all of today's scrambled maps challenges. Didn't rank very highly. 5/6 on the first two and 10/12 on the third. Good to see that they count towards your overall map progress.

^ I had a look at it yesterday but only did one map. I might have another go when I do my daily map.
Morning all
Cloudy again. Currently 7 degrees with a high of 14 expected. The sun may poke through but seems unlikely. Slight chance of a shower around lunchtime. Barometer up to 1022 mBar.
Sunrise 05:52; Sunset 18:23
More coffee needed.

Has anyone else tried the Scrambled Maps Challenge yet? You have to complete three quickly, and then you get ranked. It's a bit of fun.

Morning.
Tuesday.
Dry.
Grey.
Wanly sunny.
Chilly in here at 14.3 deg, 12.5 in the kitchen, 12.5 in the leanto.
1019 mBar, 30.09 in Hg, 764.3 Torr, 14.779 psi, (up from 1018 last night), 59% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 4th of January 2020 Brillo popped in, BR14 popped in somewhat displeased with his partner's brother, the Ghost of Tabera popped in, whereas I was watching "The Philadelphia Experiment" and "The Final Countdown (1980)", this latter being a time travel tale taking the USS Nimitz back to December 6th 1941.
Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the wan sunshine.
Lunch: brunch.
Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about antiques & vintage <click>
This afternoon's endeavours will include extracting the workbench out of next door's shed, I've nowhere to put it right now but I'm not leaving it for that idle pair.
Dunno how I'll extract the big cabinet, but I'll definitely Find A Way.. Even if it's in bits & has to be reassembled.
Workbench extracted. Which revealed that nothing very much was holding up the windows, so much of the afternoon was spent "fixing" that with bits of ancient scrap timber and lots of green decking screws. It'll last long enough for it not to be My Problem.
The sucker thing I bought from Lidl(tm) on the off chance it might come in handy, like, did, indeed, come in handy, like, allowing me to lift the panes of glass.
The door post isn't fixed to the floor in any way, the bottom having rotted away. I may use a bit of angle iron and a rawl bolt to cure that if I'm feeling benign.
Now having a cup of Tesco coffee. Mediocre but consistent.
Tea: Tesco battered haddock (or cod) etc.
Entertainment: PM. The 18 o'clock news.
Thing on PBS about Spy Ops: Wrath of God Part II: the blowback from the Munich Olympics massacre.
