For a long time the premise was that he was the same person in spite of the actor change. However i think they effectively pressed the reset button with Casino Royal.

He'd need to be aged 82, and have had a career spanning fifty years.Originally posted by original PM View Postthis depends if we are led to believe that the james bond we see now is (in fictional terms) the same James Bond who appeared in the first films then he cannot be black as people do not simply change from white to black or vice versa(No michael jackson jokes please).
However if James Bond is just psuedanym (sp?) for the agent whose code name is 007 then the colour of the skin matters not..

He sounds off to me but mainly because I expect his normal voice!Originally posted by Bunk View PostAndrew Lincoln on The Walking Dead sounds a little bit off to me, but I didn't realise for ages that Idris Elba was English after watching The Wire.
I think also that may be the regional accent he is doing - so much American TV is Californian. Can't remember, but isn't it set in the mid-west or the south or somewhere a bit 'yokel'?

Whenever I see a Brit attempting an American accent I often wonder if they sound as unwittingly inauthentic to real Septics as most people attempting a Glaswegian accent do to Jocks.

Bring back Tom Baker.Originally posted by Pondlife View PostOk, remember is the wrong word.
I'm not saying people won't have seen them but if you ask most of the current cinema going generation who their preferred Bond is you are unlikely to hear them say Roger Moore. It's like everyone has 'their' Dr Who.

Ok, remember is the wrong word.Originally posted by Doggy Styles View PostAs xog says, all the films are shown regularly. My son is 18 and he has seen most of them, so saying he won't remember Connery as Bond because he hasn't made one for 40 years is simply untrue.
